Firefighter of the month for the month of Sept is Asst Chief Mick Schwent! Mick has served SGFD for 45 years and has held the position of training officer, Asst Chief and the Chief’s position along with county emergency director during the flood of 93.
We are thankful for his dedication, service and are happy to take this opportunity to recognize him for his contributions to the department and the citizens we serve.

Thank you to the SGFD members Captain Justin Donovan and Lieutenant Bo Caldwell who climbed the 9/11 memorial climb at the state capital in Jefferson City this year. These members raised money for the Fallen Firefighter Foundation from pledge donations from the community.

Fire Fighter of the month for the month of August is Battalion Cheif Felix Meyer! Felix has served the department for 36 years and has achieved Firefighter 1, EMT, along with HazMat Awareness and Operations, through the State of Missouri. Felix also is also the Director of Emergency Management for FEMA in Ste Genevieve County!
We are thankful for his dedication, service and are happy to take this opportunity to recognize him for his contributions to the department and the citizens we serve.

Fire Fighter of the month for the month of July is Battalion Cheif Bill Holst! Bill has served the department for 7 years and has achieved Firefighter 1&2, along with HazMat Awareness and Operations, Fire Officer 1 and Fire Service Instructor 1 certifications through the State of Missouri. Bill also has advanced specialty training in rope rescue and is the lead training officer for the Ste Genevieve County Technical Rescue Team and SGFD.
We are thankful for his dedication, service and are happy to take this opportunity to recognize him for his contributions to the department and the citizens we serve.

Busy week for SGFD! Earlier this week we taught a youth CERT fire prevention class with the Ste Genevieve County Health Dept. We also gave a great demonstration at Mississippi Lime about the Ste Genevieve County Technical Rescue Team and our first out rescue truck 7161!

Coming soon… Ste Genevieve Fire Departments new ladder truck! These pics are the latest of the custom build process. Currently the 78′ ladder truck is on the manufacturing line at the Rosenbauer plant. It is scheduled to be delivered Oct of 2018.
We are eagerly looking forward to its arrival and future service to the Ste Genevieve community and its residents!

SGFD members attended FDIC in Indianapolis, IN this year! We had a great time networking and learning about all of the new fire technology coming out. Looking forward to it again!
