SGFD firefighter Bo Caldwell recognized for 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Jefferson City

The Ste Genevieve Fire Dept is proud to recognize Firefighter/EMT Bo Caldwell for his recent participation in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb in Jefferson City on September 10th. The stair climb is an annual event to recognize the sacrifices of the 343 New York City Firefighters that died running into the World Trade Center on September 11th. The climb also is a fund raising effort with donations given to the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation. The climb is done in full firefighter gear with an air pack on their back. Participants also carry the name tags of fire fighters that died on September 11th.

We would like to congratulate Bo on not only climbing all 110 flights of stairs along with carrying the tags of 3 fallen fire fighters from FDNY. Bo also honored the memory of the 2 firefighters that have died in the Line of Duty from the Ste Genevieve Fire Dept by carrying the retired helmets of Stanley Schwent and David Grass. Bo also received special recognition from Governor Greitens and Missouri State Fire Marshal Tim Bean because he was the participant that received the most donations of all who participated. Bo was able to get over $1,400.00 in donations for the Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

The Ste Genevieve Fire Dept is proud of Bo’s accomplishment and honored to have him on our dept.
